Dark Sides

There will be nights when you feel like charcoal

nights when you feel like a diamond in the mine

There will be nights when your elements sparkle

& nights when you sleep just fine

there will be nights when you’re clear as a river

nights when your eyelids overflow with brine

there will be nights when you stay up and shiver

& nights when you sleep just fine

There will be nights when your dreams are like hymns,

But you don’t know who sung them

There will be nights when the stars appear dim

But you know you’re among them

You know you are one of them

there will be nights when the moon looks dimmer

nights when the moon forgotten how to shine

there will be nights when your dark sides glimmer

& nights when you sleep just fine

there will be nights when you sink through the stratum

nights so bleak you’re ready to resign

there will be nights when we split like an atom

and nights when we sleep just fine

There will be nights when your dreams are like hymns

But you don’t know who sung them

There will be nights when the stars appear dim

But you know you’re among them

You know you are one of them
